Personally, I don't think it cheats, and the AI is much improved in the EE. Or you could just use a program like Cheat O'Matic and set your gold to 99999999 and tell dice poker to take a long walk off a short bridge. But really, the point of dice poker is generating money. If you finish all the ranks and win, you get 1000 xp. It gets you a lot of money, so you can buy that sweet armor in Act II. I am guessing it is a total waste of time. I have been playing without looking at any cheats (except for quests that break themselves), but I think I am going to look up what winning at dice-poker gets you. What's your favorite mini-game? Or what are some of the more memorable (positive or negative) mini-games for you? They really empasize these two features and I am loving it. And it is largely focused on the mini-games, that is the boxing, the dice-poker. It's fricken' fun! Right now I'm going through the second DLC for The Witcher.

I also find that I enjoy the boxing in The Witcher. It's a gimmick, but it's one that gets me every time. I want them to beg, I want then to give up their prized possessions. But I walk into a bar in KoToR or in the Witcher and I find I'm almost itching to challenge one the local hayseeds and take them for all they've got. I don't really have the patience for poker nor craps nor black-jack/21 nor other games as stand-alones. Some of the more memorable ones include things like the Duck Hunt in Duke Nukem, the video games in Space Quest, and probably others I've forgotten. From the earliest days of gaming there have been mini-games. I cannot recall very many mini-games that I've found as appealing. And my addiction dug a little deeper than before. The NPCs were no longer rolling away their winning rolls and instead only choosing to enhance them or simply choosing to win with what they had.

#DICE POKER QUEST PATCH#

Though I didn't see anything in the Enhancement Patch for The Witcher, I did notice that Dice-Poker was considerably more challenging after this was applied. I mean the NPCs would make really bad decisions, throwing away their wining roll to basically let me win. I really enjoyed dice-poker when it was introduce in The Witcher. In a KoToRI/II session I've found from time to time that I spent a couple hours playing pazaak instead of getting on with the mission.

I'll play a game, then when asked if I want another, I'll say yes, then say yes again, then play another. "Why yes, yes I am as a matter of fact! But how about a game of dice-poker, or pazaak before I'm off?" "What are you looking for, an adventure?"
